Kenneth Dale Roys, 82, of Elkader, formerly of St. Olaf, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at his home after a long illness with cancer. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Sunday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Volga, by the Rev. Rudy Lechner. Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and one hour before service time Sunday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Corrine; four daughters, Faith McDowell of Webster City, Melody Derber of Lee, Ill., Connie Roys of Belmond and Lisa Roys Diaz of DeForest, Wis.; three sons, Kenny Lee of Elkader, Lonnie of Reedsburg, Wis., and Kevin of Elkader; and his brothers and sisters, Lyle Roys of Herford, Ariz., Bill Roys of Wadena, Jean Bloyer of Winfield, Kan., Barb Jellings of Volga, Ruth Ann Hamrin of Bloomington, Ill., and Jannette Roys of Macau, China.
