July 13, 1931 - April 16, 2009

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rice for Dorothy L. Aschenbrenner, age 77, of Sauk Rapids, who died Thursday at Country Villa, Sartell. Rev. Timothy Wenzel will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Immaculate Conception Christian Women will pray at 6:30 p.m., followed by Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dorothy L. Aschenbrenner was born July 13, 1931 in Dubuque, IA to Harry & Clara (Johnson) Kuehn. The family moved to Clarion, IA where she graduated from high school and met future husband Edwin Aschenbrenner at the Clarion Dairy. They were married November 29, 1951. After being married they moved to Pine City, MN, Swea City, IA and finally to Opole, MN where they owned and operated the Opole Creamery. In 1969 they moved to Sauk Rapids, MN and owned and managed Aschenbrenner Refrigeration until retirement in 1989. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was devoted to her family. She loved spending time on the river, gardening, cooking, and baking. Dorothy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Immaculate Conception Christian Women. She enjoyed spending time with her church family where she volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and at many church events.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin of Sauk Rapids; son and daughters, Gary Aschenbrenner (Mary Popp) of Rice, Carol (Steve) Schlichting of Sauk Rapids, Sue (Paul) Bjorklund of Eagan, and Annie (Erik) Thompson of Orono; brother, Pat Kuehn of Cannon Falls; and grandchildren, Amy, Theo, Dustin, Spencer, Cody, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Isaac, and Olivia. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack and Richard Kuehn; and sisters, Betty Kuehn and Mary Ann Trusty. Williams Dingmann Funeral Homes
