October 1, 1944 - April 11, 2009

Ronald Lee Assink celebrated Easter in Heaven this year following his death on April 11, 2009. Ron and Mina (Douma) Assink, married on August 14, 1964 and lived nearly 38 years in the Ripon-Modesto area. Ron sold structural steel in Northern California for 35 years and was also the owner of Ron's House of Rocks in Modesto. Ron received Christ into his life in 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Modesto, where he was also actively involved as head usher and Bible Study leader. Ron, Mina and their daughter, Suzette, moved to Kanawha, Iowa in September 2006. He is survived by his wife Mina; daughter, Suzette; and two brothers, David and Gary. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vivian Assink; his daughter, Alissa Jane; and two brothers, Rodney and Duane. Memorial contributions may be made to Wright County Hospice Association and mailed in care of the family at P.O. Box 37, Kanawha, Iowa 50447. The family also welcomes contributions to the charity of your choice.

KANAWHA - Ronald Assink, 64, of Kanawha died Saturday (April 11, 2009) at his home in Kanawha. Funeral services for Ronald Assink will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Kanawha Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Steve Schultz and Pastor Ron McKee officiating. Visitation for will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 E. Second St. in Kanawha, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Ewing Funeral Home, 118 E. Second St., Kanawha, IA 50447.
