Belmond, Iowa--Funeral services for Fred D. Fulton, 63, will be conducted at 9 a. m. Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church here. He was a funeral director at Belmond. Mr. Fulton died early Wednesday from a heart attack. He was born Aug. 12, 1893, son of James F. and Hannah Finn Fulton. He was a graduate of Belmond High School and Hohenschuh-Carpenter College of Embalming, Des Moines, in 1920. The Belmond man was employed by the Boughton Furniture Co. and the Klemme Furniture Co. here for many years. Later he established his own business and opened the Fulton Funeral Home in 1930. Mr. Fulton was a member of the national and Iowa Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the Knights of Columbus. He served in World War I, was a charter member of the American Legion and served on the city council for 14 years. He played baseball on the Belmond team. On Jan. 8, 1920, he was married to Georgie Frohling. Surviving are three children Ruth Wilmarth, Nelda Hardy and Jack, in business with his father. The funeral directors of North Iowa will attend services in a group.
