Aged Belmond Woman Buried

Belmond, Iowa Nov. 30.— Mrs. Lucy Brande, 80, who died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Luick, was buried Friday afternoon in the Belmond cemetery. Lucy E. Osgood was born March 5, 1850, at Schoolcraft, Kalamazoo county, Michigan. She was married to Henry Glidden on Nov. 4, 1868. To this union were born six children: five sons and one daughter, Cyrus J. and Frank of Alba, Mich., Allen of Miami, Fla., Charles of Henry, S. Dak., and Grace, now Mrs. E. W. Luick of Belmond. One son died in infancy. Mr. Glidden died in 1888. Mrs. Glidden was married again in 1895 to J. D. Brande and lived at Alden most of the time until his death in 1909. Mrs. Brande had made her home for the past twenty years with her daughter in Belmond. The Rev. S. U. Leinbach, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Mahaffy of the Congregational church conducted the funeral service at the home and at the grave.
