Leo L. Cooper, 85, of Paw Paw, Ill., died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Born May 14, 1923, in Dows, Iowa, to William and Blanche (Anderson) Cooper, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 until his discharge in 1946. He married Viola Minor on Jan.4, 1965, in Ottawa. Mr. Cooper worked at G.E. in DeKalb until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of Paw Paw; two sons, Bob (Carol) Rhoads of Paw Paw and Richard (Marsha) Cooper of LaSalle; one daughter, Harriet Carpenter of Florida; three sisters, Lova (Chuck) Winter of Sycamore, Jean Shiflet of Hinckley and Evelyn (David) Cox of Rochelle; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw, with the Rev. Dr. Anne Hoflen officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday to the time of service at the church. Family was assisted by Torman Funeral Home in Paw Paw;
