KINSLEY, KS - Valerian "Toots" A. Stiebe, 93, died March 17, 2009, at Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley. She was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of James and Anna M. Brule Ryan. On Aug. 13, 1935, she married Harry A. Fox. He died July 6, 1947. On March 6, 1971, she married Arthur D. Stiebe. He survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Rothalee Strong; brother, Robert Ryan; sister Maxine Kind; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials to Edwards County Food Bank, or the American Heart Association.
