Charlotte Edna Willwerth, the daughter of James and Edna (Hodgson) Reddick, was born February 14, 1919, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School as well as Beauty School in Waterloo. On March 20, 1940, Charlotte was united in marriage with Robert (Bob) J. Willwerth in Olathe, Kansas. The couple made their home in San Diego, CA for a short while, returning to Iowa in 1943, living on the family farm until February 25, 2009, when she entered Rotary Ann Nursing Facility in Eagle Grove and then Friendship Haven Gardens in Fort Dodge. Charlotte had a beauty shop in her home for more than 40 years and was very active in the family business of registered sheep. Attending the Iowa State Fair Sheep Show was the high-light of each summer, as she never missed a single one. Charlotte was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vincent and was involved for a number of years making donation quilts with the ladies at the church. She loved sewing and quilting but most importantly making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for all who stopped by. The greatest joys in her life were her Grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing her life with them and she made a lasting impression on each of their lives. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Charlotte passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, at the age of 90 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert (Bob) in 1997; 3 half sisters: Edith Hodgson (Warren), Ronelva Fischer (Roy) and Lucille Lempke (Albert). Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Kay Bergren (Mike) of Otho; sons, Ronald Bob Willwerth of Webster City and Thomas Dean Willwerth (Daphne) of Eagle Grove; 6 grandchildren: Jackie Duffy (Terry) of Coon Rapids, MN, Russell Posey (Lorrie) of Fort Dodge, Angela Spangler (Scott) of Badger, Travis Kleppe of Sacramento, CA, Jestin Willwerth (Jody) of Eagle Grove and Nick Willwerth of Eagle Grove and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor L.J. Hartley and Oscar Davis officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Newark Township Cemetery, Vincent. Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
