Ralph E. Rolland, 75, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Vinton and Lisbon, died of congestive heart failure Feb. 22, 2009, at Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa. Memorial services, with military rites: 1 p.m. June 6, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Arrangements are with Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care in Mesa. Survivors include his wife, Nell of Mesa, Ariz., and Lisbon; his children, Brian Rolland of Mount Vernon, Brent Rolland of Clear Lake, Richard Rolland of Hawaii and Nancy Jorgensen of Vinton; and a brother, Alvin Rolland of Eau Claire, Wis. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship is being established in Eagle Grove in Ralph's name.
