Norma J. Kleppe, 70, West Union, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center, West Union, Iowa, following a long illness. Norma was born on June 14, 1938, Topeka, KS, to Lyle and Violet (Heine) Aarhus. Norma was baptized on May 26, 1946, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Grimes, Iowa, and confirmed on September 14, 1952, at Lake Lutheran Church, Renwick, Iowa. She graduated from North Fayette High School, West Union, Iowa. Norma was united in marriage to Norman Kleppe on June 30, 1957, at First Lutheran Church, Ossian, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Kleppe, West Union; two children, Jeff Kleppe, West Union, Pam Taylor, Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Vonnie Potaska, La Crosse, WI; one brother, Larry Aarhus, Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jeaneen Kleppe and two brothers, Donnie and Danny Aarhus.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009, at 11:00 am at Bethany Church, rural Ossian. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery, rural Ossian. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 4-7 pm at Schutte - Grau Funeral Home, Clermont, Iowa, and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
