Clarion, IA-- Briar Lynn Ammerman-Butz, the daughter of Ashley Ammerman and Bryan Butz, was born August 21, 2007 at Clarion, Iowa. Briar passed away March 9, 2009, at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Briar is survived by her parents, Ashley Ammerman and Bryan Butz; brothers, Taylan Elwood and Landen Elwood; sister, Kinley Butz; grandfather, Keith Ammerman, grandmother, Marlene Ammerman; great grandmother, Caroline Ammerman; grandparents, Linda and Jerry Askvig, and grandfather, Bruce Butz. Though her time on Earth was short, Briar will live on in the hearts of family and friends. Briar donated her heart, liver, kidneys and intestines so that others may live. She donated her lungs to the University of Iowa for Cystic Fibrosis research. Memorials may be made to the Ammerman Family Fund at Security Savings Banks, Clarion and Eagle Grove, or First Citizen’s Bank in Clarion. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Church in Clarion. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
