Rickey Lee Wegman, 61, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Al Henderson of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Colfax Township Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Walter Porsch V.F.W. Post 1856. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rickey was born August 1, 1945 the son of Lewis and Mildred May (Thompson) Wegman in Fort Dodge. Following high school Rickey enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served his country from January 1966 until his honorable discharge in December 1968. Rickey was discharged as a Corporal E-4. Rickey retired from Georgia Pacific after 27 years of dedicated service. Rickey was always proud and willing to assist his family. Rickey was known to so as the Candyman and to others as the M and M Buddy. He loved to work with his flowers in the yard. Rickey was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the Disabled American Veterans.

Those thankful for having shared in his life include four sisters; Joan Lowe of Fort Dodge, Carol Ruby of Fort Dodge, Ruth Miller of Fort Dodge, Sally Wegman of Fort Dodge, two brothers; Dale Wegman of Fort Dodge, Gale Wegman of Belmond and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Wegman was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Thomas Wegman and one brother-in-law, William Miller.
