STORM LAKE, Iowa - Josephine F. "Jo" Matthew, 80, of Storm Lake died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at her residence of cancer. Services will be 10:30 a.m.Wednesday at Storm Lake United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Bell officiating. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Fratzke Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Mrs. Matthew was born May 5, 1920, in Goldfield, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Esther (Farmer) Oviatt. She graduated from Goldfield High School. She married Dean E. Matthew Aug. 3, 1947 in Goldfield. He died February 9, 2000. She worked for the Sugar Bowl in Storm Lake and then for the Iowa Public Service Company. She was a member of Storm Lake United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Wa-Tan-Ye.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Matthew and his fiancee, Elizabeth Einerwold of Alta; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Kirk Bradley of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; Jennifer Danes, Wendy Bradley, Jacob Matthew, David Einerwold, Chad and Zachary Einerwold; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Russell Oviatt of Goldfield; a sister, Mary Faulkner of Portland, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Helen Foell of Storm Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.A memorial fund has been established.
