Marguerite Anderson, 96, died of natural causes on Christmas night, December 25, 2002, at Gallatin Rest Home, Bozeman, Montana. A long time resident of Big Timber, Marguerite had spent the last five years in Bozeman to be near family.

Marguerite was born on June 17, 1906, in Meservey, Iowa, the only child of Emma and Scott Beldon Click. Marguerite graduated from Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND and taught English and coached girls' basketball in Souris, North Dakota. She and Henry Anfin Anderson were married August 12, 1929, in Colton, South Dakota. The couple, with their two daughters, moved to Big Timber, the summer of 1935, to establish the first Gamble Store in the state of Montana. After her husband's death, Marguerite operated the Gamble Store until 1971. She was an active member of the Big Timber Lutheran Church, the Big Timber Women's Club, Fireman's Wives, the Republican Women's Club and numerous bridge groups. She enjoyed extensive travel with good friends and had great affection and interest in her community.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, age 62, in April of 1966 and a great granddaughter, Katherine Marie Johnson, age 2, July 30, 1993. Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Lois M. Undlin of Rapid City, South Dakota and Margaret A. Johnson of Bozeman, and their husbands, Charles T. Undlin and Dr. Jerrold E. Johnson; as well as nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, who were her great joy. Local grandchildren and families include Sarah and Jeff Cade, Paul and Paula Johnson and Graver and Amy Johnson, all of Bozeman. Services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Big Timber Lutheran Church, Big Timber. Memorials honoring Marguerite may be made to the Big Timber Lutheran Church, Big Timber, Montana, 59011.
