Douglas Louis Pinkele, the son of Louis and Geneva (Gearhart) Pinkele, was born on June 8, 1944 in Clarion, Iowa. He was a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove. Doug attended and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Doug entered the United States Navy on March 15, 1965, and was honorably discharged on March 10, 1969. Doug married Jeanine Sheets on July 14, 1974 in Woolstock. Doug was a member of the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church, served as Vice President of the French Church Board, and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He worked as a Cement Truck driver for American Concrete for 11 years, retiring in 2004. Doug loved to read. Doug passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the age of 64 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, one grandson and a nephew. Survivors include his wife, Jeanine Pinkele of Eagle Grove, daughters, Jeana Newgard (Adam) of Terril, IA, Angel Clark (Shannon) of Roscoe, IL, Lesohn Pinkele (Brian) of Arnolds Park, IA; son, Jules Pinkele (Erin) of Webster City, IA; 10 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; father, Louis Pinkele of Eagle Grove; sister, Donna Gonzalez (Ralph) of Des Moines, IA and a brother, Donald Pinkele (Louise) of Clear Lake, IA. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home at 602 N. Washington in Goldfield with Pastor Scott Gruening officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
