Rebecca T. Eggleston, 76, 115 Alwine Ct. Hiawatha died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday at the chapel. The Rev. Clint Twedt-Ball will officiate.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jack are a son Rick and wife Linda Eggleston of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Chad and wife Kristie Eggleston of Cedar Rapids and Holly Eggleston of Cedar Rapids; three great grandchildren, Jack, Owen and Finley; a brother, Earl Thompson and wife Maggie of Rio Verde, AZ; a sister-in-law, Rosa Thompson of Bettendorf; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Ray Scott and Richard Thompson, and a sister, Margaret Glass.

Becky was born September 12, 1928 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Rose Pletcher Thompson. They moved to Cedar Rapids during the war and she attended Franklin High School and Mt. Mercy College. She married Jack Eggleston and they had over 56 years of the good life together. Becky was employed by Northwestern Bell and retired from U.S. West after 31 years. She enjoyed her places in Minnesota and Arizona. Becky enjoyed golfing, following the Hawkeye's and being with her family. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous or to the Linn County Humane Society.
