February 1, 1889 -- December 30, 1966

Fred F. Rasmussen died at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 76. He grew to young manhood in the Renwick community. On April 26, 1918 he entered the Army and served with the 90th division in Europe. After the war he remained in Europe where he served with his division as part of the occupation army in Germany until his discharge, June 21, 1919. Oct. 1, 1925, he married Miss Emma Looft at Bancroft. They established their home in Renwick where they had since resided. They observed their 40th anniversary this fall. Fred was a rural mail carrier for 40 years before retiring Nov 30, 1958. He was a member of the Renwick Methodist church, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Humboldt County Letter Carrier association, National Letter Carriers association and National Retirement association. For many years, he served with the voluntary fire department. He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Bram and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Losis L. Rasmussen of Webster City. Burial in Thomson Cemetery, Vernon, Iowa.
