Arthur "Art" John McQuiston of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Jan. 18, 2009 at the age of 89. Art was born to John D. "Mac" and Mae (Barrett) McQuiston on Dec. 19, 1919 in Souix City, IA. He was the middle of seven children, all deceased. Art was a veteran of World War II and met his wife, DeLoris Yeakel in Aug. of 1950 in Springfield, OR where he was working for the fish commission and she was visiting from Kanawha, IA with friends. They married in Nov. of that year, and from this union were born six children, Jan, Mary (Steve) Kullberg, Theresa McQuiston, Lori McQuiston, Barrett and William McQuiston. Art was blessed with many grand and great-grandchildren. To our father, his family meant the world to him. At his request, there will be no funeral, but the family will gather in his honor at a future time.
