Martha Elizabeth McIntyre, age 97, of Highland, Arkansas died Aug. 29, 2006 in Salem. She was born May 28, 1909, at Dows, Iowa, to Emil and Kristiane Henrikson. She was a graduate of North Central Bible College, Minneapolis, Minn. She was united in marriage to William Kenneth McIntyre Oct. 3, 1934, in Geneva, Minn. She was a retired missionary who served 34 years with the Division of Foreign Missions of the Assemblies of God. During her ten-year tenure in Cuba together with her husband, who died Sept. 25, 1999, she served as a teacher in the Bible School and in translation work. She spent 20 years in Spain helping her husband, who was one of the founders of the Assemblies of God in that country. She spent a year in Morocco, North Africa, and a year in France in missionary service. She was a member of the Highland First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by a niece and three nephews, all of Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to leave a lasting memorial may send it to Highland First Assembly of God designated for the Kenneth McIntyre Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid to Assemblies of God ministry students.
