January 11, 2009Ruth Arlene Klousia, 86, of Springfield Missouri was called home to her Heavenly Father at 6:00 am January 6th 2009. Ruth was the daughter of John M and Mabel Beer and was born in the family farmhouse at 5:30 am on January 22, 1922 in Franklin County, Iowa in the middle of a blizzard. Ruth grew up on her parent's farm in Iowa and graduated from Popejoy High School in 1938. She attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. During World War II, Ruth worked in Washington D.C. for the FBI. On March 1st 1952, Ruth married Harold Jay Klousia in Hampton, Iowa. Over the years they lived in Marionville, Missouri; Goldfield, Iowa; El Paso, Texas; Monett, Missouri; Ponca City, Oklahoma; Weslaco, Texas; and Springfield, Missouri. Ruth enjoyed many hobbies and was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed painting, needlepoint, bird watching, embroidery, genealogy, macrame and taking photographs. Ruth had a great sense of humor and always had a twinkle in her eye. She was a member of the Methodist Church and she read her bible every day. She was a warm and caring mother who loved her children and took great joy in all of her grandchildren. She will be missed by her many friends and her loving family. "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me." (Ruth 1:16-17)
Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara, husband Harold, her brother John Beer, her grandson Kenneth Hoierman, and her granddaughter Jimmi Klousia. Ruth is survived by her sons Bill and his wife Sheryl of St. Louis, Jim and his wife Elizabeth of Springfield, Ivan of Austin, Texas and Clifford of Jackson, Mississippi. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Doris Beer of Des Moines Iowa, and her daughter-in-law Katherine Hoierman. She is survived by her grandchildren: James Klousia and his wife Stacey of Sandy Bay, Tasmania, Shannon and Kenyon Klousia of St. Louis Missouri, Micah Klousia of Springfield, Missouri, Kelly Hoierman of St. Louis, and her great-granddaughter Alicia Hoierman, of St. Louis. The immediate family held private services at Springfield National Cemetery. The funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
