Resident of Castro Valley Dee passed away due to complications from emphysema and lung cancer. She was 85. She is survived by her sons Donald (Carol) of Castro Valley and Michael (Nancy) of Walnut Creek; and 4 grandchildren (Gary, Jenny, Kevin, Katie). She was preceded in death by husband Oliver (1983), whom she met while serving in the Navy during WWII. Dee was born and raised in Goldfield, IA. She was a resident of Castro Valley for 57 years. Dee is best known for working as a beautician for 51 years, finally retiring at the age of 77. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at Jess C. Spencer Mortuary, 21228 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, CA.
