Mary Ellen Lorenzen, the daughter of George and Edith (Blesh) Reikofski, was born June 26, 1933, in Pilger, Nebraska. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Stanton High School in 1952. In 1952, Mary married Marvin Lorenzen at Yankton, SD. The couple lived in Fort Dodge and moved to Eagle Grove in 1972. Mary enjoyed sewing and fishing and loved to ride her motorcycle. Tri-Chem was a hobby of hers. Mary passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 75 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marvin. Survivors include her children: Mary Emory and husband Jim of Merrifield, MN, Marvin “Sonnie” Lorenzen of Fort Dodge, Leona Klipp of Fredericksburg, VA and Wally Lorenzen and wife Marla of Eagle Grove; granddaughter, Melanie Raines and husband Ray of King George, VA; great-granddaughter, Kenzie Belew; friend, Floyd “Red” Shearer of Eagle Grove; brothers: Ronnie Reikofski and wife Jane of Omaha, NE, Donnie Reikofski of Omaha, NE and Charles Reikofski and wife Kathy of Stanton, NE and sister, Dixie Curry and husband Tom of Fairbury, NE.
