Larry D. Kinseth, 69, Belmond, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8 at the Belmond United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Druhl and Rev. Troy Pflibsen officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Larry Dean, the son of Bernold and Neva (Ohler) Kinseth, was born December 10, 1939 on the family farm. He graduated from Belmond High School. He married Vicki Wolfe on March 9, 1957. They were later divorced. Larry married Sharon Matson on May 6, 1978 in Belmond. Larry was a partner in Kinseth's Plumbing and Heating in Belmond from 1963 until his retirement in the early 1990's. Larry had been active in the community, serving as a board member of the Belmond Industrial Development Corporation, was a member of the Belmond Country Club and a past officer, was a driver for the Belmond Care Car, was a member of the Gridiron Club, and had been a member and officer of the Belmond Jaycees. He was a life-long member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Larry was an avid and competitive bridge player. He had a very high rating for his card-playing skills. Larry enjoyed daily trips downtown to have coffee and conversation with his many friends. A favorite passion was playing golf, and he looked forward to any opportunity to be on the links with his friends, wife Sharon, and other family who shared his love of the game. If it wasn't raining or snowing, one could count on Larry being on the course. Larry enjoyed sports and looked forward to attending his children and grandchildren's extra-curricular activities. Be it a softball, baseball or basketball game, one would often find Larry in the stands supporting his family as their number one cheerleader.
