MERK, HAUPTLYS, WEIG, STUDER, MATERN, HANIG, BLEICH

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Catholic church Tuesday morning for Otto Merk of Waukegan, Ill., who died there. The deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Merk at Clarion, Iowa in 1894. The family lived on the farm now occupied by the Nick Hauptlys and Otto and his mother lived in town where Joe Weig now lives, some 20 years ago. Otto was employed on the Ben G. Studer and Mike Matern farms. He was buried in the St. Joseph's cemetery beside his mother and father. Pallbearers were Leo Hanig, Ben G. Studer, Leo Bleich, Adam Matern, Julius Matern, and Alf Studer.
