May 16, 1937 -- March 2, 2007

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Milbrath officiating. Burial is in Colfax Township Cemetery, south of Vincent, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 1856 of Fort Dodge. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Janice; children, Michelle and Jim Wiese, Boone, and Michael Flamme, Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Lindsey Flamme, and Miles, Shelby, Mia and Marshal Wiese; and sister Donna Nichols, Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Hilda Flamme.

Darvin Dean Flamme was born May 16, 1937, in Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Colfax Township. Following his education, he started farming. He was inducted into the US Army serving from 1959 to 1961, stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Fort Dodge and resumed farming until his death. He married Janet Pingel in February 1963. They divorced in 1995. He then married Janice Merfeld in 1996. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1856. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
