Sharon K. McMillan, 52, of 1121 Seymour Ave., died Friday, May 4, 2007, in University Hospitals following a lengthy illness. Funeral services: 3:30 p.m. Sunday, First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City, by the Rev. Ed Morgan. Committal services: 10 a.m. Monday, Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Sharon is survived by her husband, Anthony; and their son, Nicholas of Iowa City; her mother, Grace Schipull of Humboldt; five siblings, Roger Schipull of Hardy, Dennis (Ramona) Schipull of Northwood, Glenda Carpio of Greeley, Colo., Bruce (Kim) Schipull of Hardy and Diane (Randy) Sykora of Windom, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her father.

Sharon was born March 20, 1955, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Grace Krause Schipull. Sharon was raised in Hardy, Iowa, and was a graduate of Iowa Central College and the University of Iowa, where she received her BSN degree. On June 22, 1985, she married Anthony McMillan in Iowa City. Sharon was a registered nurse for 31 years at University Hospitals, where she cared for children in pediatrics. Sharon was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City and enjoyed bicycling and spending time in her garden. She was a devoted wife and mother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Sunshiney Day, c/o University of Iowa Foundation.
