Martha C. Wilson, 87, of Fort Collins, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Four Seasons Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Iowa. Cremation will be conducted. Martha C. Volberding was born Jan. 4, 1912, in Dike, Iowa, to Herman Volberding and Minnie Hesenka Volberding. She graduated from Dike High School and Iowa State Teachers College. She married Lee Wilson in March 1932 in Elk Point, S.D. Mrs. Wilson worked for many years as a schoolteacher in rural Iowa. She also owned and operated a grocery and hardware store with her husband in Hardy, Iowa, and they later owned and operated a plumbing and heating business. She also worked as a bookkeeper for a grain elevator company in Hardy. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Methodist church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, traveling and playing piano. She lived in Fort Collins for seven years, after residing in Hardy.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Becker of Livermore one granddaughter, Sherry Christian of Ocilla, Ga. and a nephew, Robert Taylor of Livermore, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice in care of Reager Funeral Home.
