Grace V. Walters, age 78, of Versailles, passed away Saturday morning, May 3, 2003 at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was born March 9, 1925 in Hardy, Iowa, the daughter of James Henry and Edith Aleta Rummens Eddy. She married Everett Woodrow Walters who preceded her in death. She was a rural schoolteacher for several years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Versailles. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Ann James of Versailles; three sons, Dr. Gary Rex Walters, Gravois Mills, Lt. Col. Bob Everett Walters, currently stationed in Japan, and Billy Joe Walters, Joplin; one brother, James J. Eddy of Gravois Mills; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10;00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Holst Cemetery near Gravois Mills. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
