Walter J. Christensen, 93, of Dunedin, Florida died Friday at Mease Continuing Care. A native of Hardy, Iowa, he moved to the area in 1972 from Colorado Springs, Colo. He was an electrical engineer for Illinois Bell Co. in Chicago and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Illinois Bell Pioneers, North Bay Community Church in Clearwater, and Veterans of Foreign War Post 10093 and Telephone Pioneers, both of Dunedin. He is survived by his wife, Edith; three daughters, Judy Bubin of Palm Harbor, Joanne Hood of Hinsdale, Ill., and Jane Soper of Bozeman, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
