Ruth O. (Abbott) Johnson, 92, of Vincent, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Services will be Saturday, Aug. 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the Vincent United Methodist Church with the Rev. L.J. Hartley officiating. Interment will be in the Newark Township Cemetery. The visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Ruth is survived by her children, Jerry (Anita) Johnson, Eagle Grove; Karen Johnson, Fort Dodge; Russell (Marty) Johnson, Duncombe; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, one step-great-great-granddaughter, two sisters, Daisy Kiewiet, Buffalo Center; and June Algoe, Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.

Ruth Abbott, the daughter of Nate and Laura (Rhoer) Abbott, was born on June 25, 1915, in Webster City, Iowa. She attended country schools in Hamilton and Wright counties and high school in Webster City. In 1937, she was united in marriage to George Johnson. They farmed in the Vincent area until retiring in 1978 and moving into the town of Vincent. Ruth was a member of the Vincent United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle, the Quilting Ladies and the 500 Card Club. Memorials may be left to the Vincent United Methodist Church.
