Belmond Independent, IowaDwight "Ole" Miller died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001 at United Methodist Church in Belmond with Pastor Janet Wearda officiating. Interment was at Belmond Cemetery near Belmond. Music was provided by Maxine Jenison, organist; Dianna and Jim Suntken, vocalists. Honorary casket bearers were Brian Wright, Gary Skiye, Julie Rohweeder, Daniel Skiye, Ardell Sturm, Dale Jones, Clancy Jonston, Karen Klingenberg, Harold Johnston, and Curtis Trulson. Casket bearers were Ernie Miller, Mike Miller, Curt Moore, Bo Miller, Ed Miller, and Patrick Dillon.
Ole, the son of Ernest and Vernice Cummins Miller, was born June 22, 1944 in Dolliver, IA. He grew up in the Belmond and Rowan area, attending school in Rowan. He was united in marriage with Bobbi Dillon and the couple made their home in Belmond. Ole was employed as a farm hand in the Belmond and Rowan area. He later was employed at Nelson Sand and Gravel until 1985, when he retired, due to ill health. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Belmond.
Ole was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Virgil; one infant brother; and one nephew, Jason Moore. He is survived by his wife, Bobbi; one daughter, Lynzie; two sons, Christopher and Devon, all at home; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Dale Jones of Humboldt, Byrul and Curtis Moore of Belmond, Renee Miller of Rowan; three brothers, Ernie Miller of Hayfield, Bo Miller of Britt, and Mike Miller of Rowan; two sisters-in-law, Michele Wright and her husband Brian of Humboldt, and Jerilyn Miller of Forest City; one brother-in-law, Pat Dillon and his wife Barb of Clarion; one aunt, Florence Cummins of Fairmont, MN; many nieces and nephews.
