JoAnn Elaine Malaise daughter of Rayner and Margaret Nail Malaise was born April 5, 1933 on the family farm 5 miles east of Woolstock. She received her education and graduated from Woolstock High School. JoAnn attended 1 year at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas and 3 years at Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis. On August 10, 1952 she married Raymond Luppes at the Woolstock Mission Church in Woolstock. The couple farmed for many years near Kamrar and retired to Webster City in 1995.
In addition to her husband Raymond, she is survived by her daughters, Lila (Paul) Losli of Spring Lake Park, MN, Carla (Clayton) Voegele of Huron, S.D.; son, Lyle (Kathy) Luppes of Rosemount, MN; brother, Dale (Marilyn) Malaise of Lewisburg, KS; 7 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Robert Malaise.
She was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg for over 50 years, and was very active in women’s ministries. JoAnn also enjoyed learning sign language and has been involved in that ministry for nearly 30 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Missionary Alliance Church, mission funds.
