STADTLANDER, BOELMAN, JORGENSEN

Marlin Rae Stadtlander, 67, of Garner, passed away Thursday (Nov. 13, 2008) at the Concord Care Center in Garner following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for Marlin Stadtlander will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, at the United Methodist Church in Garner with the Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial will be at 3:45 p.m. in the Meservey Cemetery. Visitation for Marlin Stadtlander will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today in the Fellowship Hall at the United Methodist Church in Garner and one hour prior to services at the church. Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane S., Belmond, is in charge of arrangements.

Marlin Rae and his twin sister, Mardell Mae, were born on May 27, 1941, at the Belmond Hospital, the children of Dick and Rena Boelman Stadtlander of rural Belmond. Marlin attended and graduated from the Klemme High School in 1959. He helped area farmers and his father and brother with farm work and raised and sold rabbits. Marlin drove a milk truck and was a custodian at the Garner-Hayfield High School. He was a hard, faithful worker; he worked at Iowa Mold Tooling for thirty-three years, as well as being the custodian at the United Methodist Church for forty-one years.

Those left to cherish Marlin's memories include his wife, Sharyl; sons, Ross (Angela) of Garner and Blake (Linda) of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Austin Stadtlander, Brittney Stadtlander, Drake Stadtlander, Payton Stadtlander, Kasay Stadtlander; twin sister, Mardell (Eugene) Jorgensen of Hampton; brother Luvern Stadtlander of Hampton and many other aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. They will all miss Marlin, who was such a part of their lives. Marlin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward Stadtlander; nephew, Dennis Stadtlander; sister-in-law, Delores Stadtlander; niece, Sherry Stadtlander and a great-nephew.
