Mrs. Gus Lansing was born in Oslo, Norway, February 27, 1852. She came to America with her parents when she was three years old. They settled in Minnesota and later came to Iowa. In March 1873, she married Gus Lansing. Eight children were born to them and two children and her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Lansing passed away at her daughter Alma's home in Barnum, January 6 (1944).
Children that survive her are sons: Pete of Alameda, California; Bro of Rolfe; Lawrence of Jackson, Minnesota and Guy of Bode; daughters are: Mrs. Hina Kinseth of Belmond and Mrs. Anna Monson of Barnum. Since the death of her husband in 1928, she had made her home with her two daughters.
Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. Bernald Kinseth of Alexander; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bolen and daughter, Charlotte of Alexander; Mr and Mrs. Matt Lahiff and Mrs. Joe Lahiff of Claire; Mrs. Keith Haines of Rolfe and Mrs. Edson of Fort Dodge.
