Pioneer Resident of County Dies at Home in Bode

Bode, Iowa August 20 - Gust P. Lansing, pioneer resident of Humboldt county, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday evening. He had been in failing health for some time. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the St. Olaf Lutheran church, the Rev. Haavick officiating. Nels Holm, Eric Robland, K.S. Aure, Carl Underberg, L.L. Kinseth and L.B. Gangestad were pall bearers. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Gust Lansing was born in February, 1948 in Omlid, Norway. He emigrated to this country with his parents at the age of twelve. He was married to Miss Rena Engelbretsen in 1873. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Peter, Broses and Guy of Bode, Mrs. Hera Kinseth of Belmond, Mrs. Bertha Gullixson of Rutland, Mrs. Anna Monson of Wesley and Laurence of Jackson.
