Ronald Dale Brown, 59, of Patterson, Iowa died Oct. 23, 2008, of muscular dystrophy at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Union Chapel Cemetery near Patterson. Memorials may be directed to the family or the VA Central Iowa Health Care System–ICU, 3600 30th St., Des Moines, IA 50310.

Ron Brown was born Feb. 28, 1949, in Winterset to Eugene and Esther (Douglas) Brown. His marriage to Marilyn Bricker took place May 27, 1972, in Kanawha. Ron worked as a pressman at Meredith, Meredith/Burda and RR Donnelley until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Alaska. He also coached Little League and the Patterson Playboys for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ken Brown.

He is survived by two sons, Cory Brown of Patterson and Travis Brown of West Des Moines; two brothers, Jim Brown of Urbandale and Bob Brown of Patterson; and one granddaughter.
