Judith B. (Judy) O'Hern, 91, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Corpus Christi Cemetery. The visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Judith is survived by her sister Esther Collins, Fort Dodge; three generations of nieces and nephews and many cousins living in Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, two sisters, Jennie Decker and Mable Reisner.

Judith Bernice Peterson, the daughter of Michael and Marie (Seland) Peterson, was born December 8, 1916, in Fort Dodge. She grew up in the areas of Vincent and Thor. Judy was employed with Lutheran Hospital in the kitchen and then worked as the switchboard operator at Mercy Hospital. She retired from Land O'Lakes after working there for many years. In 1952, Judith was united in marriage to Walter O'Hern and he preceded her in death in 1956. Judy was a member of the Sons of Norway and enjoyed making many types of crafts including dolls and teddy bears. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
