Robert L. Woods, 94, of Naples, Florida passed away on Friday, April 13, 2001. Born in Vincent, Iowa, he came to the area in 1986 from Lake Worth, Fla. Mr. Woods was editor of the Illinois State Journal for 25 years, retiring in 1971. In 1976, he married Winifred B. (Barnom) Woods, who survives in Naples. Also surviving are two sons, Robert N. Woods of Blackburg, Va., and John M. Woods of Rockford, Ill.; one step-son, Archie Brott of Bonita Springs; one sister, Evelyn Foeler of Vinton, Iowa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Monday, April 16 at Community Congregational United Church of Christ with Dr. Charles Lewis officiating.
