Leona Goodrich

The funeral will be Jan. 9 for Leona Goodrich of Eugene, who died Jan. 2 of age-related causes. She was 91. Goodrich was born May 25, 1912, in Alexander, Iowa, to Wilbur and Della Latham Sheirbon. She married Edwin Goodrich Jr. on Jan. 6, 1934. He died in 1998. She lived in Prineville from 1934 to 1959 during which time she worked with her husband as Crook County deputy assessor. She moved to Eugene five years ago. Her interests included her family, home and gardens - especially her roses.

Survivors include two daughters, Neva Dezellem of Bridgeport, Wash., and Nancy Bick of Eugene; a brother, Joe Sheirbon of Hood River; a sister, Lois Sheldrake of Corvallis; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Today's service will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Virgil T. Golden Funeral Chapel in Salem, which is in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-Willamette chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Salem.
