Lewis E Kesterson 71, of 10842 N. Havenhurst Lane died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 1995, while vacationing in Burnett County, Wis. Born Sept. 3, 1923, in Virginia to Bruce and Elizabeth Hess Kesterson, he married Elda Burattini on March 9, 1946, in Bari, Italy. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Susanna Kesterson of Clarion, Iowa; one brother, Paul of Covington, Va.; one sister, Katherine Allen of Fayetteville, N.C. One son, Thomas, and one infant brother preceded him in death. A World War II veteran, he was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. He was chief corporate pilot for Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring in 1981. He also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Proctor Hospital. Private family services will be at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Emma Jean Kesterson, his sister-in-law, will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded.
