Howard Larsen, 72, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus. No service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity, c/o Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home, 141 N.W. C, Grants Pass, OR 97526.

He was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Goldfield, Iowa. On Oct. 20, 1968, in Carson City, Nev., he married Shirley Zehr, who survives. Mr. Larsen worked for Pacific Power & Light from 1947 until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, he presented electrical safety programs to schools throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Larsen was a member of Grants Pass Elks Lodge No. 1584 and the Grants Pass Bowling Association.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Jean C. Larsen, Central Point, and Linda G. Larsen, Houston; his mother, Myrna C. Larsen, Grants Pass; a stepdaughter, Lynette McAllister, Medford; two brothers, Kenneth W. and Robert M., both Grants Pass; a sister, Joan E. Dexter, Grants Pass; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements: Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home, Grants Pass.
