Robert A. (Bob) Moore, 72, Alexander, died October 2, 2008 at the Belmond Health Care Center. Services were held October 6 at the Belmond United Methodist Church with Pastors Mark Pluff and Mike Druhl officiating. Burial was in the Alexander Cemetery.

Robert, son of Curtis and Valma Deshler Moore, was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1935 six miles east of Sheffield on the home place. The doctor ate dinner with the family while he waited for Bob's arrival. Bob attended Halltown Country School through the third grade and then attended Sheffield Public School. Bob married Nancy Prilipp on January 1, 1956. The couple made their home in the Hampton and Belmond areas. In 1959 he ran a corn sheller business in the Hampton area for several years. He worked and with farmers until 1978 when he went to work for Asgrow Seed Corn Company. He retired in 1998. Bob enjoyed gardening -- more garden than Bob and Nancy needed. So he supplied vegetables to friends and family who didn't have a garden. Camping was another enjoyment. In the winter he'd have as much fun in the snow as a kid, only he was blowing snow from his own and the neighbor lady's driveway. When everyone else was grumbling about snow, he was happy because he could plan on running his little tractor again. Bob's mother-in-law thought he made the best fried chicken.

He was preceded in death by son Randy; his parents; and a sister. Bob is survived by his wife; children: Ronda (Bill) Smutz of Belmond, David Moore of Shreveport, LA, Paul (Veronica) Moore of Tucson, AZ and Larry Moore of Tucson; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister Bonnie (Ken) DeVries of Hampton.
