MESERVEY — Kenneth A. Johnson, 71, of Meservey, passed away Tuesday (June 8, 2004) at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorial services for Kenneth A. Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. Pastor Rodney Meester will officiate. Military rites will be provided by the Belmond Honor Guard at the funeral home. There will be no viewing, as the body has been cremated.

Kenneth Ardell, the son of Cornelius and Grace Boelman Johnson, was born March 15, 1930, in Goodell. He grew up in the Goodell and Meservey areas where he attended school. Kenneth served in the U.S Army as a medic during the Korean War. With exception of his time in Korea, he lived his entire life in Meservey. He is survived by his son, Dennis Johnson of Seattle, Wash.;his mother, Grace Johnson of Belmond; and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
