SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. IVER BROWN

Fannie Fern Williams, daughter of James S. and Henrietta Van Volkingburg Williams was born May 5, 1890, at Clarion, Iowa. In her infancy she was baptised in the Methodist Faith. Her education was received at West Bend, where she grew to womanhood. On May 5, 1910, she was united in marriage to Iver J. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Brown. The wedding taking place at West Bend. The couple first established their home on a farm near Huntinton, Iowa, later moving to Hancock County.

Blessing the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brown were seven sons Lewis Milton, Robert Williams, Richard Nels, Harold Iver, Newell James, Merle Hays and Myron Chandler. The family took active interest in community and church life. Mrs. Brown was a life member of the Methodist church had while residing at Woden served as president for several years of the WSCS.

The family circle was broken for the first time on August 12, 1929 when the son, Harold, passed away and again on September 8, 1952 when Mr. Brown died. Following the past World War, the Browns moved to Britt from the farm. Mrs. Brown was known for her kindness. Her life centered with her family and the work of the church. For the past two years she has been in failing health and has received medical attention and confined to the hospital. Sunday evening [April 12, 1959] she quietly slept away at the Hancock Memorial Hospital at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 7 days.

She is survived by her six sons, Milton, St Paul, Minn.; Robert, Britt; Richard, Woden; Newell, Britt; Merle, Woden; and Myron, Casper, Wyoming. Also surviving are six daughters-in-law, 21 grandchildren as well as four great grandchildren. In addition she is survived by a brother and three sisters, John Williams, Redmond, Oregon; Mrs. Alfred (Williametta) Brown, Mason City; Mrs. Harold (Rosetta) Anderegg, Dougherty; Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Sloan, Cedar Falls. In addition to her immediate family and grandparents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, James, Sadie and Sarah Williams.
