Lyle Alvin Eenhuis passed away Sept. 10, 1984. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 13, 1984 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Forest City, with Revs. Ole Winter and Steve Dornbusch officiating. Casketbearers were Ray Wilson, Arnie Murra, Harvey Shaefer, Mark Wilson, Pat Orthel, and Paul Knudtson. Burial was held in Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha, Iowa.

Lyle Alvin Eenhuis was born in Forest City, Iowa on Jan. 4, 1949, the son of Louis and Elva (Shelton) Eenhuis. As he was growing up he helped his father on a farm near Forest City. He graduated from Forest City High School in 1967, then attended the former Mason City Junior College. He then moved to to Colorado where he worked as a salesman for four years. He returned to Forest City to be employed by Winnebago Industries as a district manager in Wisconsin. In 1974, he moved back to Forest City where he was employed as a salesman at Eymann Pontiac-Cadillac until 1982. He was married to Sherry Preston on May 12, 1984. Following a brief illness, he passed away in a Rochester, Minn., hospital on Monday, Sept. 10, at the age of 35. Lyle is survived by his wife, Sherry, Forest City; his parents, Louis and Elva Eenhuis, Forest City; and his brother and sisters: Michael (Denise) Eenhuis, Wakefield, Kansas; Margaret (Harold) Nielsen, Crystal Lake; Joretta (Walter) Riggle, Glenville, Minn.; Mary (Marshall) Thompson, Lake Mills; Esther Taylor, Leland; and Jeanette (Dennis) Dodd, Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, in infancy; and a sister, Lila Nielsen in 1977.
