Mrs. James (Ida) Walsh

Funeral services were held today at 1:30 p.m. for Mrs. James (Ida) Walsh, 77, at the Foster Funeral home with Phil Olsen officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Walsh died Thursday [February 19, 1976] at her home, 1119 Water St., death being due to an apparent heart attack.

Ida Mae Krieger, daughter of Andrew and Justine Krieger, was born Aug. 21, 1898, on a farm near Hinckley, Ill. The family later moved to a farm near Serena, Ill. and when she was a small girl, she moved with her parents to Iowa, locating on a farm near Woolstock. She was reared and educated in that area. For many years, she was employed at the former J.J. Newberry and Woolworth stores in Webster City. She was married Nov. 21, 1951 to James Harold Walsh, and the couple made their home at 819 Water St., until 1952, when they moved to 1119 Water St., her home since.

She was preceded in death by husband April 28, 1973. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Thompson of Clarion, two nephews, Loren Krieger and Weldon Krieger, both of Woolstock; and several cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Krieger. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Webster City.
