KENNEDY RITES NEXT SATURDAY

Death Came Early Thursday at Home Southeast of Clarion

William Kennedy, 49, died at 3 a.m. today [March 5, 1942] at his home, ten miles southeast of Clarion, after a several year's illness. He had been seriously ill since January. Death was caused by cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home, with the Rev. Woods, of Blairsburg, officiating. Burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

William Cloyd Kennedy, son of James and Anna Kennedy, was born March 16, 1892, near Kamrar. He attended the rural schools and grew to young manhood in that community. Feb 25, 1914, he was married to Edith Schmidt, in Kamrar. They farmed in Hamilton county for a time and 23 years ago moved to Wright county where they had since lived.

His father died in 1923 and two brothers also preceded him in death. He leaves his wife and eight children, Ronald, city; Mrs. Harold Williams, Stratford; James B., Camp Robert, California; Mrs. Ralph Doty, Iowa Falls; Delores, Iris Mae, Shirley Ann and Zola at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Kennedy, four grandchildren, and four brothers, O. A. Kennedy, of Dexter, Minn.; John, of Sioux City; Otto, of Kamrar, and Glenn, of Webster City. He was baptized in the Methodist faith when a young man and was a member of the Methodist church. He was a loving husband and kind father and was highly esteemed as a neighbor and a friend. He leaves a host of friends who will regret to learn of his death.
