Death of Chauncy Thompson

Chauncy Thompson, one of the early settlers of Cass township, died at an early hour Sunday morning, June 1st 1902, at the home of his brother Samuel, seven miles northeast of Webster City. He was taken sick Saturday afternoon and died a few hours later. Deceased was 59 years of age and has resided in this county 32 years. He left no family but always resided with his brother. He was an upright, honorable man, a quiet, peaceable citizen and his death will be widely mourned. He leaves three brothers and one sister, all residing in this vicinity. The funeral was held at Cass Center.
