Mrs. Emma Mourlam, 98, a lifelong Woolstock area resident, died Thursday [November 22, 1973] morning at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been in ill health for five and one half weeks. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Foster Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Masters will officiate with burial in the French cemetery near Woolstock.

Emma Matilda Kastler, daughter of Louie and Louise Miller Kastler, was born April 24, 1875, near Woolstock. She was reared and educated in the Woolstock community. She was united in marriage on Jan. 22, 1898, to Joseph Mourlam. The couple had always farmed in the Woolstock area. Mr. Mourlam preceded her in death on July 9, 1944, and she continued to make her home on the farm.

Mrs. Mourlam is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Thompson, Clarion, Mrs. Harry (Mabel) Claude, Jewell, Mrs. Carl (Florence) Heck, Dodge Center, Minn., Ethel Mourlam and Edna Mourlam, Woolstock, and Mrs. Gerald (Hazel) Ratcliff, Webster City; one son, Louie Mourlam, Clarion; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchilden.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
