JOE MOURLAM DIED SUNDAY

Was Long Time Resident of the Woolstock Community.

Woolstock--Joseph (Joe) Mourlam, 75, long time resident of the Woolstock community, died Sunday [July 9, 1944] afternoon at his home two miles east of town. He had been seriously ill only since last Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 at the Woolstock French church; burial in the French Church cemetery. Kubitschek-Kastler of Eagle Grove in charge.

Mr. Mourlam was born in Alsace-Lorraine, France, and came to this country when he was 15 years old. Until about 16 years ago he had farmed near Woolstock. He is survived by eight children: Mrs. Harry Krieger of Woolstock, Mrs. Harry Claude of Randall, Louis of Woolstock; George of Clarion; Mrs. Carl Heck of Webster City, Ethel, Edna and Hazel at home. There are also 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Known throughout his full and active life as an energetic worker in everything he undertook to do, Mr. Mourlam made a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by these friends and fellow workers as well as by his devoted family.
